Who we are
ChoreZap is managed by Alex Coady. Alex Coady will be referred to as 'we' from now on.
Information about you
We collect information about you in accordance with our privacy policy. Read our privacy policy for more detail about how and why we collect, use and share your personal data.
By using ChoreZap, you agree that we will collect information about you in accordance with our privacy policy.
Using ChoreZap
You agree to use ChoreZap only for lawful purposes. You must also use it in a way that does not infringe the rights of, or restrict or inhibit the use and enjoyment of, this app by anyone else.
ChoreZap works on:
- iPhones running iOS 16 or later
- Android phones running Android 10 or later
We may automatically update ChoreZap regularly. We can change or remove features at any time without notice. Alternatively, we may ask you to update ChoreZap on your device. If you choose not to install such updates, or opt out of automatic updates, you may not be able to continue using ChoreZap.
Your account
When you create an account you must provide information that is accurate and complete. You are responsible for safeguarding the credentials you use to access ChoreZap and must not share your account access with any third party.
Homes and household conduct
ChoreZap allows you to create or join a shared space called a Home, and invite other members to it. Each user belongs to one Home at a time.
The user who creates a Home (the host) has the authority to remove members or delete the Home entirely. We are not responsible for any loss of data resulting from the actions of other members in your Home, for example a housemate deleting your chore history.
You agree not to use ChoreZap to create or share content that is illegal, abusive, or intended to harass other members of your Home. We reserve the right to remove content or end your rights to use ChoreZap if you breach these standards.
Subscriptions and billing
ChoreZap requires a subscription to access its full features.
Every new home includes a 60-day free trial. No payment or card details are required during the trial period. If you choose not to subscribe after your trial, your home will enter trial ended mode — you can still log chores and view recent history, but full history and insights will be unavailable.
If you choose to subscribe, all payments are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store). You must manage or cancel your subscription through your device's account settings. We do not process payments or refunds directly — any refund requests must be made through the relevant app store.
ChoreZap disclaimer
While we make every effort to keep ChoreZap up to date, the app is provided 'as is' and 'as available'. To the extent permitted by law, we do not provide any express or implied guarantees, conditions or warranties that ChoreZap will be:
- suitable for your individual requirements
- available or uninterrupted
- current or accurate
- free from errors, bugs or viruses
Payment of a subscription fee does not entitle you to any compensation for any period of unavailability or service interruption. We are not liable for any missed chores or household disputes arising from technical failures or data inaccuracies.
Except as otherwise expressly stated in these terms, we are not liable for any loss or damage that may come from using ChoreZap. This includes:
- any direct, indirect or consequential losses
- any loss or damage caused by civil wrongs ('tort', including negligence), breach of contract or otherwise
- the use of or inability to use ChoreZap
This applies whether or not the loss or damage was foreseeable or arose in the normal course of things. This includes, but is not limited to, the loss of your:
- income or revenue
- salary, benefits or other payments
- business
- profits or contracts
- opportunity
- anticipated savings
- data
- goodwill or reputation
- tangible or intangible property
We may still be liable for:
- death or personal injury arising from our negligence
- fraudulent misrepresentation by us
- any other liability which cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law

When using ChoreZap, you must not:
- use ChoreZap in any unlawful manner or for any unlawful purpose
- introduce viruses, trojans, worms, logic bombs or any other material that is malicious or technologically harmful
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to ChoreZap, the servers on which it runs, or any connected systems or databases

- infringe our intellectual property rights or those of any third party

Use by children
ChoreZap is not designed for or intended to be used by children. You should not use ChoreZap if you are under 13, nor allow any child under 13 to use the app on your device.
Ending your rights to use ChoreZap
We may end your rights to use ChoreZap at any time if you are in breach of these terms. We may, but are not bound to, provide you with a reasonable opportunity to remedy the breach.
If we end your rights to use ChoreZap, you must stop using the app immediately and delete it from all devices in your possession.

General
We are not liable if we fail to comply with these terms because of circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
If we choose not to exercise or enforce any right available to us under these terms, we can always decide to exercise or enforce that right at a later date. Doing this once will not mean we automatically waive the right on any other occasion.
If any of these terms are held to be invalid, unenforceable or illegal for any reason, the remaining terms will still apply.
Changes to these terms
The latest version of these terms will always be accessible in ChoreZap and on this page. We can update them at any time without notice. Your continued use of ChoreZap after any update constitutes your agreement to the updated terms.
